OUR PRACTICE

Premier Sleep and Neurology was created with you the patient in mind. By limiting what we treat to sleep disorders, Epilepsy and ADHD, we are able to provide comprehensive evaluations, cutting edge treatments and individualized follow-up care.

Epilepsy affects 1 out of every 100 people. A seizure can be devastating and dangerous. A thorough evaluation is critical to proper treatment and care. Our doctor is fellowship trained in Epilepsy and has been treating patients with this disorder for over 25 years.

There are over 88 described sleep disorders. Any one of them can cause you to not get a good night’s sleep. Our doctor, who is board-certified in Neurology and Sleep Medicine, is uniquely qualified to pinpoint exactly what the problem is and implement a proven effective treatment program.

In addition to sleeping well at night, staying alert and focused during the day is also critical to good health and success.

Many of our patients have struggled with focus and concentration issues since childhood. Many have struggled to get through school and continue to struggle in the workplace and at home. ABOUT DR ASHKIN

2017 Charlotte Top Doctor Award Winner

From a young age, Dr. Ashkin knew that he wanted to help others. In fact, he completed his undergraduate education at Lehigh University and medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 6 years instead of the usual 8 years. He went on to do his medical internship at the University of Pennsylvania and Neurology residency at the Neurological Institute of New York. He then did a fellowship in Sleep Medicine and Epilepsy at the Cleveland Clinic. He achieved numerous academic accolades along the way including Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha honor societies.

He and his wife settled in Charlotte, NC in 1994 where he has been practicing his specialties ever since. He was one of the first sleep physicians to come to the Charlotte region. He is board-certified in Sleep Medicine, Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology and Epilepsy.

He was in practice with Mecklenburg Neurological Associates until 2018 when he founded Premier Sleep and Neurology, PLLC. He is now dedicating his practice to patients with sleep disorders, Epilepsy and attention disorders. Dr. Ashkin was named Top Neurologist in 2017 by the Top Doctor Awards. Outside of work, Dr. Ashkin enjoys table tennis, chess, hiking and spending time with his family.
